Under the dual-carbon policy, my attention turned to the home dietary management issues faced by young people.

Young generations with new “Dietary Personality”
After conducting desk research on sustainable diets, I interviewed a food scientist.
An interesting finding was that the food health of Chinese youth can be summarized as a new dietary persona driven by a fast-paced lifestyle：

I recored the complaint I heard when I invited young people from different industry backgrounds to participate in focus group interviews.
“I am too busy to
properly prepare my meals.”
“Every day, I end up eating
quick and easy meals.”
“It's really hard for me to
maintain healthy eating habits.”
A dilemma marked by a lack of guidance and motivation
Subsequent survey with questionaires also confirmed the existence of the problems during the whole process of food management.
Insights
Young generations require scientific assitance to achive efficient food management
I invited five participants to join my workshop, which aimed to identify the challenges throughout the entire process of food management, from food storage to eating habits.
The participants were asked to use different tools to show scenes from their lives and express some of their thoughts.
I can spot potential problems in the details of some behaviors as well as specific descriptions.

I have collaborated with teams from food science to develop several product demos, ranging from food design to digital product development.
Ultimately, I chose to focus on the food management system, which helps young people address their daily food challenges more effectively.

The app iteration process demonstrated my focus on user experience in creating and testing prototypes.

The improvements in the new version showcase the product as a more scientific and reliable assistant, presenting food management content more intuitively to users.
Additionally, as a supervisor helping users form dietary habits, the system's increased interactivity and reward mechanism will encourage long-term user engagement.

What Went Well:
User-Centered Design Approach
The thorough user research phase allowed me to deeply understand young user’s needs and pain points on food management. This led to design decisions that were well-received by our target audience, as evidenced by positive user feedback during workshop.

The iterative nature of my design process, including prototyping and testing, ensured that me continually refined and improved the product.

Diverse User Testing
To better understand and cater to a wider audience, future projects should involve a more diverse group of test users. This will provide comprehensive insights and help create a product that appeals to a broader user base.
Contextual Guidance
I need to implement a comprehensive onboarding process that includes tutorials, walkthroughs, and tooltips. These elements will help users quickly learn how to navigate the interface and use key features, thereby enhancing their initial experience and reducing the learning curve.
